Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Assessment

The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Assessment is a valuable tool for measuring essential critical thinking skills that contribute to effective decision-making, innovation, and leadership. This test evaluates your ability to think logically, reason through problems, and make sound decisions. It is widely used in hiring processes to assess how well candidates can recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, and draw logical conclusions from complex information.



What is the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Assessment?


This assessment is designed to test key aspects of critical thinking, including:


  • Recognizing assumptions
  • Evaluating the strength of arguments
  • Drawing logical conclusions from available information

These skills are vital in problem-solving roles and help employers understand how you approach challenges and make decisions.



Assessment Format

  • The test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions and has a 30-minute time limit.
  • Questions are designed to assess your ability in five critical thinking areas:
  1. Drawing accurate inferences
  2. Identifying assumptions
  3. Applying deductive reasoning
  4. Reaching logical conclusions
  5. Evaluating the effectiveness of arguments

Why Take the Practice Test?

Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test (BMCT-II)

For over 60 years, the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test (BMCT) has been a reliable and objective tool used to assess candidates’ spatial perception, mechanical reasoning, and aptitude for learning mechanical processes. It helps identify individuals who are well-suited for roles requiring mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.


The BMCT-II, the latest version, measures key abilities needed for success in specific job roles or training programs, including:


  • Mechanical comprehension
  • Spatial visualization
  • Understanding of basic physical and mechanical principles
  • Technical reasoning about how machinery works

This assessment evaluates your ability to understand and apply fundamental mechanical and physical concepts, and it gauges how well you grasp the principles behind the operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment. It is frequently used to screen applicants for mechanical and manufacturing roles.



What to Expect


  • The test consists of 55 multiple-choice questions and has a 25-minute time limit.
  • It is administered online only.
  • Questions cover topics like pulleys and levers, hydraulics, gravity and velocity, gears and belt drives, structures, planes, and slopes.

  • How long will the assessment take to complete?

    The duration of the assessments varies based on the type of test. On average, assessments may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. You will be informed of the expected time for each assessment before you begin, so plan accordingly to complete it without interruptions.

  • Can I retake the assessment?

    Retakes are generally not permitted for most assessments at McKee Foods. However, in certain cases, technical issues or other valid reasons may allow a retake. If you experience any problems during the assessment, please reach out to a recruiter as soon as possible.

  • What should I do if I encounter technical issues during the assessment?

    If you experience technical difficulties, such as losing internet connectivity or the assessment freezing, try to log back in and resume the test. If the issue persists, contact a recruiter immediately for assistance.

  • How are the assessment results used in the hiring process?

    The results of your assessments will be reviewed along with your application, interview and work performance, if applicable. The assessments help us better understand your skills and how well they align with the responsibilities of the position you are applying for.

  • Can I practice before taking the actual assessment?

    Yes! If practice tests are available for the assessment you're required to take, we highly recommend completing them to familiarize yourself with the test format and question types. Your recruiter will let you know if practice materials are available.

  • Will I receive my assessment results?

    While you will not receive a detailed breakdown of your results, your recruiter will inform you of the outcome of your application and whether you've progressed to the next stage of the hiring process.

  • Are the assessments timed?

    Yes, most assessments are timed. Be sure to pay attention to the time limit for each test and manage your time wisely throughout the assessment. The time limits will be clearly communicated before you begin.

  • What if I need accommodations for the assessment?
