Pay

$24.92-$41.59 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Plus $2.hr  shift premium for 3rd shift hours

Schedule

3rd Shift Alternating Weeks

8:00pm-6:30 Sunday – Wednesday

8:00pm-6:30am Monday-Thursday

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Truck Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team. This role involves the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, yard tractors, cars, pickups, vans, and truck garage equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair Class 8 trucks, trailers, and various fleet vehicles
  • Perform tire and wheel breakdown, build-up, balancing, and alignment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, fuel systems, and lubrication systems
  • Conduct adjustments and repairs to brakes (air and ABS), clutches, transmissions, differentials, suspensions, and steering systems
  • Execute trailer repairs and preventative maintenance as needed
  • Maintain documentation and follow company processes for vehicle maintenance.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 6-12 months in a garage environment or vocational school
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
  • Strong decision-making, perception, and judgment skills
  • Good verbal and written communication; teamwork-oriented
  • Own tools for general truck and trailer repairs
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Willingness to obtain a McKee Foods LTO license within 90 days
  • Must acquire ASE Medium/Heavy Duty certifications within one year
  • EPA air conditioning certification required within 30 days of employment
  • Flexibility for overtime, shift changes, and travel for training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience : 2+ years in heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance or a Diesel and Truck Technology diploma
  • Basic computer skills
  • Certified welder
  • Class A CDL is a plus (may be required based on business needs)
