Pay

Salaried grade 8 & 9
$79,000 - $98,000 / year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking an Electrical/Automation Maintenance Supervisor (or Maintenance Supervisor) to join our Plant Engineering team. This role provides leadership and coordination for employees engaged in the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, proven supervisory experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead the Plant 5 Automation Maintenance team in alignment with McKee Foods’ mission, vision, and guiding values
  • Drive the implementation and use of the McKee Maintenance Excellence (MME) program , applying planning and scheduling, Lean, and reliability-centered maintenance tools
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, food quality, and food security standards , including adherence to BRC and other third-party food safety audit requirements
  • Oversee projects and assignments, ensuring timely and efficient completion
  • Monitor and respond to departmental performance indicators, ensuring goals are achieved
  • Promote a culture of safety through clear policies, high standards, and thorough root-cause analysis of incidents
  • Apply and teach McKee Operating System (MOS) principles , including problem solving and Lean methodologies, to maximize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and develop team members, ensuring continual growth for both individuals and the crew
  • Provide coaching, recognition, and corrective action as needed to improve workplace performance and behavior
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Manage supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and addressing employee concerns
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities
  • Demonstrate workplace behavior consistent with McKee Foods’ values and maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance standards

Required Qualifications

  • One to two years of post–high school education or an associate degree, plus three to four years of related work experience (with McKee Foods or another organization)
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and interpret documents in English, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers
  • Proficiency in basic math, including algebra and geometry, with the ability to calculate percentages, proportions, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to recognize basic facts and situations, draw logical conclusions, and apply knowledge in carrying out instructions
  • May be required to obtain a Hot Work Authorizer Permit and/or Powered Industrial Equipment license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education strongly preferred.
  • Associate degree or certificate in a related field (electronics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, etc.) with at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years of experience may substitute for 1 year of education)
  • Experience with quality improvement or lean initiatives such as Hit the Target, Lean, DIM, TPM, RCM, TQM and/or LMS
  • Strong customer service skills with a team-oriented, partnership-focused mindset
  • Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and confidentiality, serving as a role model for company values and policies
  • Knowledge of food safety, security, and plant/equipment sanitation standards (GMPs, AIB, BRC requirements)
  • Ability to log in to PLCs and interpret ladder logic
  • Understanding of MCS/RMS systems and their functions
  • Strong safety record with commitment to maintaining a positive safety culture
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels of the organization, including with contractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and direct multiple projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to facilitate and implement change effectively
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to participate on multiple project teams and travel when required
  • High degree of initiative, motivation, assertiveness, and self-direction
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, with an innovative and creative approach to solutions
  • Ability to work at heights when required
