Pay
Salaried grade 5, 8, or 10
$64,000 - $105,900 / year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

Job Summary
McKee Foods is seeking a Food Labeling Specialist to join our Food Regulatory and Nutrition team. This role focuses on the expert analysis and application of technical, legal, and food regulatory data to ensure total business compliance. The specialist produces and maintains accurate food labeling and specifications while proactively monitoring emerging legislative initiatives to predict potential impacts on operations. By managing critical nutritional and allergen documentation, they serve as a central knowledge hub for historical and current technical data. Furthermore, this position leads cross-functional collaborations with R&D, Marketing, and Manufacturing to validate new product information and oversees nutritional audits to guarantee that all packaging and advertising materials meet strict legal standards.
- Analyze, interpret and make effective use of technical, legal and food regulatory documents, information and data
- Produce and maintain regulatory compliant food labeling and specification information; manage the information to ensure ongoing compliance
- Examine emerging policy, legislative and regulatory initiatives that may impact our business; and predict and report implications
- Participate in and/or lead project teams or other initiatives that support quality and compliance processes and standards
- Maintain current and historical reference information and make accessible to users. This includes, but is not limited to food ingredient, nutritional, allergen, specification and other food technical documentation
- Collaborate among R&D, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing to gather, validate and utilize information related to new ingredients, new products, etc.
- Ensure function and efficiency of the nutritional audit program in verifying accuracy of required food label information
- Ensure that food packaging information and related materials, such as advertising and social media, comply with applicable laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Science, Chemistry or related discipline
- Proficient with various software applications including the Google and Microsoft Office suite, with aptitude to exploit the capabilities of these and other software applications
- Experience researching, interpreting and making use of food regulations or scientific literature
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and care for accuracy
- Self-motivated and eager to learn; proven ability to work independently while learning from, encouraging and supporting other team members
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in the technical aspects of ingredient quality standards, food labeling, food safety, food analysis or quality assurance, etc.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management or similar systems
- Knowledge of FDA food regulations, USDA school food and BE regulations and Global Food Safety Initiative standards, including supply chain preventive controls
