Pay
$34.92 - $42.79 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Schedule
1st Shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
On-site; other days and hours as needed

Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining and executing the Preventative Maintenance (PM) processes to check the safety systems of various types of gas fueled industrial equipment. This position is responsible for making sure our gas systems are inspected yearly by a third party auditor and that issues that arise are taken care of. This position will be responsible for dealing with regulatory agencies and FM Global during inspections.

- Develop, fabricate, and operate a burner and combustion control test and training simulator facility.
- This position is responsible for ensuring gas systems comply with all applicable codes (NFPA, OSHA, NEC 70E) while assuming liability for changes and modifications to the systems.
- Develop job aids/work instructions for assigned equipment
- Enters spare parts for gas systems on each piece of equipment
- Addresses sanitation safety inspection issues related to assigned equipment as necessary
- Establishes and Performs corrective/preventive bi-weekly inspections for gas equipment as per OSHA requirements
- Assists machine operators with adjustments including troubleshooting problems and training operators on how and when to adjust equipment
- Develops good working relationships with production partners for assigned work areas
- Inspects work site after making a repair and pick up all tools and parts and clean up any mess. Alerts supervision if contamination has occurred or further cleaning is needed by the Environmental Services Department
- Inputs and accesses maintenance information in Maximo/iWork
- Keeps workshop and toolbox clean and organized
- Communicates with management, technicians, and production immediately regarding any downtime, potential downtime, or other situations that may affect their processes
- Develops and implements incremental improvements to assigned equipment
- Demonstrates workplace behavior that is consistent with company policies and values
- Communicates job information to accomplish work tasks
- Maintains good attendance as defined by company and/or department policy
- Practices good personal hygiene and maintains a clean work area
- Exercises personal safety on the job and demonstrates a commitment to the safety of others and our products
- Performs other duties as required by department supervision
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED. Additionally, at least 1 year experience or equivalent combination of Post-High School education and experience (1 year of education = 2 years of experience)
- Be at a current step 5 level in process and packaging or equivalent in other departments in Plant Engineering Department
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
- Ability to login onto a PLC and follow program to troubleshoot gas system issues within 1 year
- Able to travel to training yearly on the newest OSHA/NFPA standards
- Provides maintenance support to operational equipment throughout assigned plant
- Makes efficient repairs as needed including electrical and mechanical repairs
- Follows all referenced operating procedures, work instructions, and job aids related to equipment and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to Generate mechanical, electrical, process, and other drawings for equipment improvement and upgrades.
- Knowledge of appropriate instrumentation for troubleshooting and problem diagnosis.
- Computer literacy: the internet, email, working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous training and experience in combustion control maintenance, or in gas oven/fryer operation.
- Vocational technical training or completion of an apprenticeship program.
- Know pertinent Electrical regulatory codes, FM regulation, and OSHA regulations.
- Currently at an IMT or equivalent level.
